National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards

Botton's Senior Support Worker is National Finalist

We are pleased to announce that Michelle Hart a Senior Support Worker from Falcon House, was shortlisted as a finalist in the National Learning Disability & Autism Awards.  These awards celebrate excellence, in the support for people with learning disabilities, and aim to pay tribute to those who excel in providing quality care.

Steven James (Registered Manager) nominated Michelle earlier in the year due to the constant praise and compliments that she was receiving from families and other staff. The compliments and praise also extended to the team at Falcon in relation to the care and support they are providing.  Michelle was singled out, in particular, on many occasions, for going the extra mile and the positive changes that she had made during the time in her role.

The awards ceremony took place on 14th July 2016 at the ICC in Birmingham, unfortunately Michelle didn't win, however it is a great achievement to have been recognised for such an award. Botton community recognise the quality of care and hard work that Michelle and her team and in our eyes they are all WINNERS!

I was shocked and honoured to have been nominated for this award and at first I thought I was for one of the guys in the house and I'd missed something. The support and feedback from families and colleges have been amazing and overwhelming, and as I often say "I'm just doing my job" in my eyes seeing how much the guys in the house have achieved and changed in this last year is amazing and rewarding in itself.” - Michelle Hart, Finalist.

“It is a massive achievement to be chosen as a finalist for this award, congratulations to Michelle." - Steven James, Registered Manager.

“I was thrilled to learn that Michelle had been shortlisted for this prestigious award. The tremendous feedback she receives from family, friends, residents and colleagues shows just how much she deserves it.  We are all very proud of her and whatever the outcome on the night, she’s already a winner in our eyes!” – Wayne Mason, General Manager.
