New Community Project opens

New Community Project opens

Our new development is part of CVT’s ‘Berith and Camphill Partnership’ and consists of three parts:

  • Berith House - completely refurbished to provide four self contained apartments..
  • The Pavillion - a new build with six wheelchair accessible apartments.
  • Berith Hall - a communal hub which can be adapted for a range of activities including theatre performances and can seat up to sixty people. As well as providing a hub for the Camphill community it will also be available for community groups.

The scheme has been developed to complement the existing facilities on the site including a communal kitchen and computer suite.

Camphill has operated in Stourbridge for over forty years. Presently sixty people receive a variety of support including residential care, domiciliary care and supported living . Activities include a thriving horticultural project, pttery and a local coffee shop and café.

Ian Laing the General Manager said:

“This is a local project for local people. It adds to our portfolio of properties in Dudley and provides opportunities for local people. The combnation of accommodation and communal Hall enables us to further integrate and provide a service to the community”.

The new development was designed by Manchester architects Pozzoni and the building contractor was Speller Metcalf.
