KP Foods, which is based locally in Billingham, runs a project called the 'Community Hero Scheme' whereby each member of their workforce can have a paid day of leave to volunteer in the community. Larchfield was very pleased to welcome Kath Ward who spent her voluntary day working in the Bakery.

Learn to Lead Regional Forum Hosted by Larchfield Community

On Thursday, 11th May the Larchfield Learn to Lead Team welcomed their counterparts from Croft and Botton communities for the North East Regional Forum.  Shortly before the 10.30am start the Larchfield Team gathered in the hall to help set out the chairs and refreshments, have a last minute practice of their presentation and pose for a team photograph.

Introducing 'Fireblade 1'

The garden workshop is a full half mile away from Teyva house where Joe lives and he began to think it would be easier and quicker to have a bike to ride to the workshops. Having had a go on Debbie's trike Joe decided to go ahead and buy a trike for himself, now known as 'Fireblade 1'.

A Very Sweet Success

The smell of coffee and sweet cake hung in the air as the doors opened on Larchfield's fundraising coffee morning in the nearby village of Great Ayton. The community and friends of the community had united to offer a magnificent selection of cakes, plenty of bric a brac, an enticing tombola and beautiful craft work.

Eyes Down for a Full House!

The Larchfield Learn to Lead team had the idea of raising funds to buy some monogrammed hoodies that they could wear when representing Larchfield at Regional Forums and at Family Days but how could they achieve this? Stephen McGechan, Glenn Havelock and Amanda Long came up with a Bingo, Pie and Peas night which would be a fun way of getting people together as well as raising money for the hoodies. First step was a poster ably designed by Stephen.
