The Grange provides a supported living service, where the people we support live together and are encouraged to be independent. Focus is on supporting areas that develop life skills.
People live independently in their own house with a small peer group of 5 - 7 people. They are part of the wider community and are encouraged and able to access groups of interest and social gatherings. Those in the community are provided with background support from support workers in the houses. Individuals may additional 1:1 hours provided as a result of an assessed need.
Camphill Village Trust have a person centred approach to delivering support. Each person will have their own personal support plan and will be allocated a key worker.
As part of our Care & Support contract with Gloucestershire County Council an enablement service is available to all those living in CVT communities. This involves an initial meeting to discuss individual goals and can enable a referral for the person to go through an assessment. The enablement team can assist people with – getting into employment / volunteering opportunities / accessing the wider community – travel training to aid independent travel to hobbies and activities of interest. Several people living at the Grange are now accessing this service on a weekly basis.
As well as the range of Day Opportunities within the community, many people also choose to access activities in the wider community. For example, horseriding, carriage driving, swimming, gym, college courses and Kingfisher Treasure Seekers in Gloucester.
