CVT hosts ‘Growing Together’  Care Farming conference at Botton Village

This conference helped participants share knowledge about both Care Farming and the Camphill Village Trust. It showed how Care Farming has been adopted in Botton Village and included people talking about the benefits that Care Farming has brought to their lives. Highlights included a showcase of Botton Village day opportunities.

 CVT Chief Executive Huw John introduced the conference and  Speakers included:

Dr Rachel Bragg – co-ordinator Care Farming UK.

Bogdan Bocur – Head of Community Development Botton Village.

Mark Coates – Occupational Therapist.

Paul Henry – Farm Manager at Camphill Community Ballybay Co. Monaghan, Social Farming Ireland Development Officer.

Robin Asquith, Care Farm Manager Botton Village.

Ashey Merrington – Social Farming Trainee Botton Village.

James Coates - Social Farming Trainee Botton Village.

Wayne Mason – Manager Botton Village

Participants also viewed the UK premier of “The Countryside of Care”, a film showing how Care Farming is establishing in the USA. Afterwards there were networking opportunities, a chance to meet some of the external partners we are working with and a tour of Botton Village.
