Craft Work to be Exhibited at Kirkleatham Museum

Earlier in the year the members of the Larchfield Craft Workshop were invited to submit a piece of work for an exhibition at Kirkleatham Museum in Redcar. The exhibition will be called 'Artefacts' and will feature craft and artworks which have had therapeutic benefits during the creative process.

Riding Success for Stephen

For the second year running a rider from Larchfield qualified for the National Riding for the Disabled Championships. The rider this year was Stephen who rode in two classes; dressage and dressage to music. Stephen was very successful and was awarded first and fourth place rosettes. The competition was held at Hartpury Equestrian College in Gloucestershire and Stephen was accompanied by his dad, Colin. This national competition is the biggest event of its kind in the world with hundreds of disabled competitors taking part in over 90 classes over three days.

A Day of Celebration - Our 30th Birthday Party

On Saturday, 29th July, the hall at Larchfield bounced with energy as more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Larchfield's opening in 1987. The timetable for the day had been organised by the Learn to Lead team and there was plenty to entertain our guests.

Daffodil House Recognised as an Inventive and Innovative Design Model

Daffodil House is Larchfield's newest residential building and recently the architects, Darlington based firm Niven, entered Camphill Village Trust in the 'Client of the Year' category of the 'Constructing Excellence in the North East' annual awards. The award evening took place on the 16th of June and while CVT didn't win it was highly prestigious to be named as one of the finalists.
