The doors opened at 9.45am and customers began to arrive; the steady trickle of people soon became a crowd and extra tables needed to be set out. Community member Lee was stationed at the door to take the entry money while Dean and Paul were in charge of the Tombola. Glenn used the skills he has developed in the Larchfield Cafe to provide an excellent service in taking orders and serving the teas and coffees.
The room was filled with the sound of chatter and some people couldn't wait till they got home before tackling the cakes they had bought. In fact some customers said they had been attracted to the coffee morning by the photographs of the cakes that Sara had put out on social media.
It was heartwarming that so many of those who live and work at Larchfield made the effort to attend the coffee morning. While the coffee morning was to raise funds for the Celebration Ball later in the year we also had some leaflets on the tables explaining what Larchfield offers and, as always, the craft stall generated great interest with many questions being asked about the workshop.
Many thanks to all who put in so much effort in so many ways and ........ drumroll.......the grand total raised to go forward to the Ball Fund was £207!
