27th June 2017 by Larchfield Community
Tesco had kindly agreed to a bag-pack fundraiser and so between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, 24th nine volunteers from Larchfield and five from Botton took up their places at the end of the tills; turned on their considerable charm and offered to pack customer's shopping. It was hard work but fun for those involved and interesting to see what people were buying! Lots of the customers asked why we were raising funds and it was also a good opportunity to let them know a little bit more about Larchfield and Botton.
Most of the volunteers had opted for a one, two or three hour session at the tills but Jeremy and Joe kept going for the full four hours! Not all the customers wanted to have their shopping packed but all were so very generous with their donations of money. At the end of our time in Tesco Amanda, from the Larchfield and Botton office teams, staggered away with a very heavy bucket of money and soon after got in touch to say that an amazing, astonishing, wonderful sum of £575.46 had been raised.
Thank you very much to Jeremy, Joe, Stephanie, Glenn, James, Lee, Dean, Debbie, Stephen and our friends Stephen, David, Allan, Martin and Neil from Botton for volunteering and working so hard and cheerfully.
