Lee interviews Larchfield's new Care and Support Manager

Lee asked Jeanette questions about her past work experiences, hobbies and what she thought of Larchfield. Jeanette had in the past managed a home for people with disabilities and had been a tutor in Health and Social Care at Darlington College; more recently she has worked as a social worker for people with learning disabilities.

Jeanette first heard of Larchfield when a young man, whose social worker she was, asked if he could come to live and work at Larchfield. While finding out more about Larchfield Jeanette also heard about the vacancy for a Care and Support Manager and was invited to apply. The first impression that Jeanette had of Larchfield was of a lovely, warm and friendly place and since starting work here she says she 'feels happy coming to work each day'.

One of Lee's questions was what Jeanette already knew about other Camphill Communities. Jeanette said that she had known about Botton for a lot of years and had visited a few times for the Christmas Fair but hadn't known anything about Croft Community so was really pleased to have gone on a visit and thought it was lovely.

Jeanette's hobbies are to do things with her children, walk her dogs, bake, read, listen to music and play the guitar. Other interests in her spare time are to have a bit of involvement with some charities such as the McMillan Cancer Trust, the Dogs Trust and Shelter. A family interest is playing games such as Monopoly, Cluedo and guessing games.
