The hall looked like a film set, festooned with jolly rogers, pirate bunting, sharks, seagulls, parrots and a Davy Jones' Locker photo booth. That well known pirate Jack Sparrow came with his shipmate Rob to entertain on guitar and a rousing rendition of 'What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor' soon rocked the rafters.
Edible treats were plentiful with fish fingers on 'mouldy' buns, seaweed grapes, fish shaped crisps, jelly eyeballs, fruit punch, chocolate coins and a pirate flag cake. Some pirate 'feuds' were resolved with some tricky sword play and pirate cheers were encouraged! After lunch the fun continued with a treasure filled pinata and a chance to put a bit of pirate thievery into practice by gently 'lifting' a necklace from the belt of the pirate wench. All too soon it was time to return to workshops with pockets full of treasure and looking forward to next year's Pirate Day.
