Visitors from the Special Olympics

On the 21st of February, twenty Community Members and Day Placements gave a warm welcome to Andrew Newton, Chair of Special Olympics North Yorkshire, and Jody Ivel from England Netball. The Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability and has more than 4.9million athletes in 172 countries. Andrew and Jody had come to tell us about the Special Olympics and how we, as a Camphill Community could get involved.

Winter Work in the Larchfield Garden

While the ground is sleeping and restoring itself for the new planting season there are still many jobs that need to be done in the garden; many of these are to do with getting ready for spring while some have the happy result of keeping the team warm and cosy in the tea room!

A Christmas Community Meal

Christmas 2017 got off to a rousing start when a two course Christmas Lunch was served to over 100 community members, day placements and staff on the 22nd of December. The kitchen and cafe staff pulled out all the stops and within 20 minutes everyone had been served with a piping hot, tasty meal.
