Daffodil House Recognised as an Inventive and Innovative Design Model

Daffodil House is Larchfield's newest residential building and recently the architects, Darlington based firm Niven, entered Camphill Village Trust in the 'Client of the Year' category of the 'Constructing Excellence in the North East' annual awards. The award evening took place on the 16th of June and while CVT didn't win it was highly prestigious to be named as one of the finalists.

Bag Packing Generosity

Ever since the date of the Celebration Ball was agreed and the venue booked, the three participating communities, Larchfield, Croft and Botton have held various fund-raising events to offset the cost of the tickets for community members and day placements. The most recent fundraiser was at the Tesco Extra Store in the Coulby Newham Parkway Centre - just a couple of miles away from Larchfield.

Gathering Together for St John's Day

At Larchfield we celebrated St John's Day on the 23rd of June -  a day early so that those who attend as day placements could join in the fun. St John's Day marks mid-summer in the Christian calendar and coincides with the pagan celebration of the summer solstice and is a fitting land celebration as our main growing season gets underway. The weather was overcast but thankfully stayed dry for the bonfire.
