At Taurus Crafts, the people we support enjoy volunteering in the wider local community this enables them to develop responsibility and social skills. Community member Brian Mannion volunteers regularly at The Dean Forest Railway which is a 4 1⁄4-mile long heritage railway that runs between Lydney junction and Parkend in the Forest of Dean.

Clay Play

Here at Taurus Crafts we have introduced a new activity in the Paint Your Own Pottery called ‘Clay Play’. Visitors can make coil pots, mini sculptures, clay creatures & much more. This activity is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get hands-on & creative with clay. With the introduction of this new activity it has enabled Cathy to share her gift and passion for working with clay.

Volunteering in our Gift Shop

Harriet Kissick-Jones is a resident at Grange and has been volunteering in our Gift Shop since March of this year. Our Gift Shop is home to a range of distinctive gifts as well ‘Can Do Creative’ which features arts, crafts, kitchen, homewares & decorative items made in workshops in Camphill Village Trust Communities.

Taurus Crafts were approached by a local student, Gweniver Exton, who is studying Photojournalism and Documentary Photographer at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham. Her project documented a day in the life of Brian, Cathy and Susie who are community members at Taurus Crafts.
