The Relay for Life is a national fundraising challenge that brings communities together to beat cancer. This year members of our community, Shelly Robertson, Susie Hicks, Ryan Gerrish and friends entered their team called ‘crazy 80’s’ to help raise vital funds for a worthy cause. They took part in the 13th annual Relay for life held which was held Dean Academy School in Lydney, the relay lasted for 24-hours and the ‘crazy 80’s’ took turns to walk around the track throughout the night.
During the relay for life the team had a stall and sold a range of items which had been donated by staff members at Taurus Crafts, The Gift Shop & some of the Artisan Businesses onsite. The ‘Crazy 80’s’ and the efforts of other teams at the relay helped to raise some £30,000 to fund vital research into cancer.
“We enjoyed taking part in the relay and having a stall at this event which helped to raise money for charity” Susie Hicks
